Shawaheen Car Rental – Terms & Conditions

Agreement Overview

By renting a vehicle from Shawaheen Car Rental ("the Company"), the renter ("the Customer") agrees to abide by the terms outlined in this agreement. These terms establish the rights and responsibilities of both parties throughout the rental period.

Eligibility to Rent

  • The Customer must be at least 20 years old.

  • A valid driving license is mandatory. Tourists may use an international driving license.

  • A copy of a valid passport or national ID must be provided for verification.

Rental Duration & Extensions

  • The rental duration is determined at the time of booking.

  • Any request for an extension must be approved by the Company.

  • Late returns exceeding 2 hours will incur a full additional day's rental charge

Payment & Deposit

  • Rental charges depend on the selected vehicle and rental duration.

  • A refundable deposit of 1000 AED (for tourists) is required as a security measure against traffic fines and damages. Refunds are processed within 25-30 days after vehicle return, subject to clearance of any outstanding fines.

Vehicle Usage Regulations

  • The Customer must adhere to UAE traffic laws at all times.

  • Any traffic violations, fines, or legal penalties incurred during the rental period are the Customer’s responsibility.

  • The rented vehicle must not be used for racing, illegal activities, or towing.

Insurance & Liability

  • The Company provides basic insurance as per UAE regulations. Additional coverage can be purchased at the time of rental.

  • The Customer is accountable for any damages that are not covered by insurance, including those caused by negligence or misuse.

  • In case of an accident, the Customer must inform the Company immediately and comply with legal and insurance protocols.

Maintenance Responsibilities

  • The Company ensures that all vehicles undergo routine servicing and maintenance.

  • The Customer must report any mechanical issues immediately. Self-authorized repairs are not permitted.

Policy Updates

  • The Company reserves the right to modify these terms at any time.

  • Any amendments take effect immediately upon notification to the Customer.

  • By proceeding with the rental, the Customer confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to the above terms and conditions.

Legal Compliance

  • This agreement is governed by the laws of the UAE.

  • Any disputes arising will be resolved in the courts of Dubai.

Data Privacy & Protection

  • The Company handles personal data in accordance with UAE data protection laws.

  • Customer information is used solely for rental purposes and will not be shared without consent.

Cancellations & No-Show Policy

  • Cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid cancellation fees.

  • Failing to collect the vehicle or canceling late will result in a charge equivalent to one day’s rental fee.

Vehicle Return Conditions

  • The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was received, aside from standard wear and tear.

  • All accessories, including keys, must be returned. Lost or damaged accessories will incur extra charges.

Mileage Policy

  • The allowable mileage is specified in the rental agreement.

  • Exceeding the agreed mileage limit will result in additional charges at the rate stated in the contract.

Fuel Policy

  • The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as provided. Photo evidence is recorded at the time of delivery.

  • Using the correct type of fuel specified for the vehicle is the Customer’s responsibility.
